Passport processing takes 6 – 8 weeks.  As a passport with at least 6 months’ validity is a requirement for international travel, it is advisable that applicants renew their passports early to avoid inconvenience. If are less than 6 weeks until the date of travel, it may be possible to apply for a Travel Document. 

Basic Requirements

  1. Personal appearance of the applicant 

  2. Duly completed Passport Application Form.pdf form  

  3. Original Passport and clear photocopy of the following pages:

            a. data page – the pages showing the photograph and birth details

            b. Green Passport – last page showing the signature of the Passport Signing Officer

            c. Machine Readable (Maroon Passport) – last page showing the Important Reminders

  1. For green and Machine Readable Passports – submit PSA and DFA authenticated birth certificate and marriage contract (if married) and identification documents (IDs, NBI clearance, etc.)

  2. Cash payment of 54.00 euros

  3. Photos are no longer required, it will be taken digitally upon application, but applicants are required to wear the following: 

    1. For men: decent shirt with collar 

    2. For women: decent attire, with or without collar; no sleeveless shirts, no plunging necklines.

For Spanish Permanent Residents

  1. Original and photocopy of tarjeta de residencia or NIE


For Dual Citizens (those who have taken their oaths of allegiance under RA 9225)

Married in Spain:

  1. Original and photocopy of Report of Marriage form filed at the Philippine Embassy


Married in the Philippines:

  1. Original and photocopy of marriage certificate issued by the NSO and duly authenticated by the DFA

  2. Photocopy of the data pages of the passports of both husband and wife


Married Abroad (countries other than Spain):

  1. Original and photocopy of marriage certificate issued by the NSO and duly authenticated by the DFA

  2. Photocopy of the data pages of the passports of both husband and wife.


IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

1. Present the original documents for verification. The Consulate General reserves the right to require additional documents deemed necessary to help establish the identity of the applicant such as Company ID, Driver's License, PRC License, Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate, etc.

2. Present OLD PASSPORT for cancellation before new passport is released. The new passport will not be released if the old passport is not presented for cancellation.

3. Declare lost passports as soon as possible to avoid delay in the issuance of a new one.

4. Passports of minor applicants are released only to their parents.

5. Passports unclaimed after six (6) months from date of issuance will be cancelled per Department Order 37-03. 6.
